Second Semester of the Year

The winter Regents week is over. We begin our second semester on February 2, 2010 (groundhog's day). Now, we begin our Spring semester (even though Winter has a deep hold on us still) and our work on plate tectonics continues.

We will revisit the types of plate boundaries and analyze and evaluate how each of the three main types interact with each other. In other words, we will look at the processes involved, the characteristic features of each boundary, and what influences the movement of these plates.

We will start analyzing the types of plate boundaries and plate motions that caused the Haiti earthquake by next week.

Homework #1: Due Friday, February 5, 2010

Textbook: read chapter 8.2, pages 176-179; do questions 1-7, page 179.
