Classifying the Stars


This week we learned that stars are classified by their color and luminosity. The luminosity of a star is a measure of how much light is given off by the star. One of the most significant factors for luminosity is the size of the star. Our lesson on classifying the stars was done using the Hertzsprung-Russel diagram (H-R diagram).
